John Cornthwaite (Farm Machinery) Limited was established in 1977 by John Cornthwaite, an East Lancs lad who had a passion for dealing in tractors and agricultural machinery. The company ran at the old auction mart at Pilling, Preston for 30 years, and then in July 2007 we moved to our new premises at Elm Farm, Station Lane, Nateby.

The purpose built facility has a large glass fronted showroom, parts and workshop areas, sales offices and administration areas on the second floor.

Over the years John and his company became increasingly involved in buying and selling tractors and machinery all over the UK and overseas.

In 1978 John Cornthwaite (Farm Machinery) Limited took the John Deere franchise. We are now the main John Deere Agricultural and Grounds-care dealer for North Lancashire, South Cumbria and the Isle of Man.

As well as John Deere we currently represent Kramer, Pottinger. Lucas G, Redrock, Trioliet, Hardi, McHale, Browns and Fleming along with others. We also stock a large number of parts for all makes and models of agricultural and horticultural machinery, toys, gifts, clothing and sundries.

Not difficult to find, we are just 2 miles west of Garstang. We have a yard full of used machinery to browse around. Pop down and see us – there is always a friendly face to greet you.

40 hours per week with overtime to suit the business demands at evenings and weekends.

Salary negotiable, depending on experience.

Duties: To work in a busy Agricultural Service Department as part of a team to meet the requirements of customers. The position will involve the diagnostic evaluation of machines and the repairing of these either in the workshop or on farm. The successful applicant will report directly to the Service Manager.

Qualities: The candidate must be fully qualified. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a customer service environment both individually and as part of a team. Preferably a clean driving licence would be required as there will be a need to drive company vehicles.
